Verizon Wireless launched a same-day delivery option several months back. The service arrived as a pilot program, and initially was only available in a few limited markets. Big Red took this delivery option out of the test phase in December, and we have also seen some expansions since the initial launch. But as of today it looks like Verizon Wireless has made this available in 10 new cities.
Without any further adieu, the new cities include; Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, D.C. Aside from the new cities having this available, the rules for delivery and the pricing all remain the same. To begin with, customers would need to place the order online and before 10am local time.
Other details include how this delivery option is available Monday through Friday, and with a guaranteed delivery time of 7pm local time. The price is $19.99, which seems reasonable as compared to the current overnight delivery fee of $14.99. We suspect many could simply save the extra $5 and wait a day for delivery, however the same-day option does have some potential perks.
This could really be helpful for those who are looking to replace a stolen, lost, or broken device. Anyway, Verizon hasn’t offered any hints as to which cities would be coming next, but given the current level of expansion, it seems additional market support will be coming down the line.
