HTC fans who are also Verizon subscribers will seemingly be looking forward to this coming HTC event on March 25. Not only will Verizon make the New HTC One immediately available for purchase, it will also be the only carrier that will be doing so.

This latest bit of information came on the heels of a leak saying that Verizon will be selling the New HTC One on the very same day that HTC unveils it. Now it seems that even that was not enough for Big Red. If the rumors are true, it has managed to bag exclusive rights to that as well. All other carriers and retailers will have to observe the usual waiting period, which, according to other rumors, will last for about two weeks.

This arrangement is quite novel in the mobile device world and is sure to drum up some more hype around the product. But for some Verizon subscribers, it might be seen as a peace offering from the carrier after having botched the launch of the 2013 HTC One, bringing it months later than everyone else.

Based on accumulated leaks and rumors, the New HTC One will be boasting the best of the best specs, including the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 5-inch Full HD display. Highlights of the device include HTC’s own BoomSound audio system and an UltraPixel rear camera, among others. Given how much has already been spilled about this New HTC One, it will be interesting to see what other surprises HTC has in store when it unveils the device on Tuesday.

  1. This really, really irritates me…I’ve been holding out for months to upgrade my phone — waiting for the all new HTC One — I hate it when carriers get exclusivity…now I’ve gotta wait even longer…arrrrrgh!!!
