Many previously iOS only games such as Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja, on top of previously iOS only OpenFeint have made their way to Android this week. It only makes sense that the Unreal Engine would be ported to the ever growing, always popular Android OS soon as well. Ever since GDC 2010 when the engine was announced to be coming to iOS there has been speculation if and when it would be coming to Android.

The Unreal Engine has been demoed many times running on Android, but Epic Vice President Mark Rein has not yet made things official. Even though we know it’s coming, we just do not know when, as iOS is currently their priority.

If you are unfamiliar with the Unreal Engine check out the video below of Epic Citadel. It’s a graphical example of the results we get with the Unreal Engine, in this case running on the iPad.
