Yes, the statement from last November wasn’t a misdirect or anything. Networking products maker TP-Link is now officially entering the already crowded smartphone market with their very own products. Calling it the Neffos C5 series, they are hoping that consumers are looking to try out new but already established (albeit in a different industry) brands as alternatives to the usual Samsungs or Sonys or Apples. For the initial series, they are introducing three devices for different market segments, and at different sizes and price ranges (we assume).

The C5L seems like their entry level device with its 4.5-inch display and running on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 32GB through a microSD card. It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and has dual SIM support. As for its camera, it has an 8MP main and a 2MP front-facing device. So this one seems to be for those looking for a very basic and simple device.

The Neffos C5 smartphone meanwhile has a 5-inch 1280×720 pixel IPS display and powered by a quad-core 64-bit processor. It has 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and supports 4G LTE connectivity. But its focus is on its photographic ability, with an 8MP main camera and a 5MP “selfie” cam but it also comes with a dual LED flash so you can use it at night. It has 30 artistic filters, intelligent mode for 8 different scenarios, and a smart screenshot mode.

Lastly, the Neffos C5 Max boasts of its “crystal clear picture quality” with the 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and 178° viewing angle. It has an octa-core 64-bit processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory and 4G LTE connectivity. Photography wise, it has a 13MP rear cam, a 5MP front-facing cam, F2.0 aperture, plus all the features that the Neffos C5 has as well. Pricing and availability for these TP-Link smartphones are still to come.
