We talked about OnePlus’s second phone for 2015 here recently, which OnePlus CEO Carl Pei has already confirmed is indeed coming. Shipping and manufacturing issues notwithstanding, we might really be getting a second phone from the young China-based upstarts this year, and we have a bunch of spec leaks for your speculating pleasure.

But first up, we rather like that it’s rumored to be called the OnePlus Mini, because we really love the “OnePlus number” naming convention for the flagship, and a “OnePlus X” might just screw with the possibilities. That said, rumors say that the OnePlus Mini will be sporting MediaTek’s little new processor that can – the MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) octa-core SoC (possibly at 2.2Ghz), supported by 2GB LPDDR3 RAM in dual-channel configuration. They’re really specific about these specs, eh?

The OnePlus Mini will also reportedly have 32GB storage but expandable via microSD, which if true, is a surprise move given the movement towards cloud storage and away from microSD expansion. The display will be a 5-inch Full HD (1080p) IPS LCD screen “protected by oleophobic and hydrophobic coating” – which just means oil and water resistant.

Rounding out this spec leak, the reports say that the dual camera setup that was earlier rumored might not be happening. Instead, the OnePlus Mini might have a 13MP Sony IMX258 primary sensor, which is pretty good, partnered with a wide-angle 5MP selfie cam. We also may be seeing a 3,000mAh non-removable battery, the current trend of a USB Type-C connector, and Quick Charge capabilities. Let’s hold on a bit more, as we’re pretty sure more info will be coming out from OnePlus soon.

  1. I haven’t been impressed with One Plus as a company, but this device has me intrigued so far. I’m sure One Plus will find a way to mess this up. And it’s not like we’ll ever actually be able to buy one while it’s still revelant
