We already knew that Sony would be unveiling a new Xperia E5. No thanks to an “accidental posting” on Facebook. Images have since been removed but finally, Sony has finally made the important announcement. The Sony Xperia E5 is the latest high-performance smartphone from the brand that boasts of a battery that can last up to two days, fast processor, and a very responsive camera.

The Xperia E5 still features the iconic design Sony is known for, as well as, its impressive imaging technology that’s been reliable for many years. It may sound like a premium piece but this one is just a mid-range phone. According to Sony Mobile Communications’ Director of Product Marketing Tsutomu Sato, “It’s the perfect device for those seeking affordable access to the performance, camera technology and design more often associated with high-end mobile devices.”

The smartphone doesn’t compromise quality despite being in the affordable category. Sony said recently that it will be ending the Xperia C and Xperia M so the E5 seems to be a worthy successor. Specs include a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, 4G/LTE connectivity, up to 200GB memory with a microSD card, 13MP rear shooter, 5MP front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, and a 5-inch HD display screen.

Phone also features an easy-to-navigate UI, Auto Scene Recognition, HDR mode, and a swipe control camera interface. There’s also a special “Share” button you can use for quick uploads to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Sony Xperia E5 will be ready in White or Graphite Black version and a very slim form. No idea on the pricing but phone will be released this June in select markets in Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
