Samsung Pay will no longer be exclusive to a few high-end Galaxy phones. A Samsung official shared the good news that they will be pre-installing Samsung Pay in mostsmartphones to be released in the market starting next year. This move will only be for capable phones. Low-end models will not be included because their low specs can’t support the service.

Samsung is said to add fingerprint sensors to future mid-range phones beginning with the Galaxy J series. It’s not impossible but it’s only a matter of time before the South Korean tech giant brings it to production.

Several banks and financial institutions are already partners with Samsung including Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay, American Express, and Alipay. Since the service’s launch last year, Samsung Pay has served worth of US$1.71 billion transactions in South Korea alone.

Samsung Pay started on premium flagship phones like the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5. Since then, the high-end Galaxy phones have received the feature already. More devices will be added to the list once Samsung has finalized its decision.

Samsung Pay has reached its first year milestone a few months ago. It’s now available in several countries including South Korea, United States, Australia, Singapore, Brazil, Spain, and China. Before 2016 ends, it will be ready in Malaysia, Thailand, and Russia. Hopefully, more countries will receive it in the next few months especially that more devices will soon support it.

The mobile payment game will soon include the Samsung Pay Mini. It will be Samsung’s new offering to the industry as a payment app that can be used on other phones. It will be for online payments and will be different from Samsung Pay that offers offline payment services.
