The Samsung Mesmerize over on U.S. Cellular has just been given the go for the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update. In case you’re wondering the Samsung Mesmerize is a Galaxy S device with a 4.0″ screen and on U.S. Cellular. Just a few months ago in June the Mesmerize was updated to Android 2.2 but now it’s time for some Gingerbread.

To get started head over to to download the new update. This is being offered by U.S. Cellular and will not come over the air, instead the update requires computer access and the user must download and manually install Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The link to the download will also provide full details with what’s new, as well as full instructions for the update.

The Mesmerize was launched with Android 2.1 and recently was updated to 2.2 FroYo. The update to 2.3 Gingerbread will wipe the device so users will be able to update no matter what current version of Android they have now. As usual with 2.3 users can expect improved power management, an improved user interface, new keyboard with improved text input, easy copy/paste and many more features so this is an update worth doing that is for sure. Again head over to to get started.
