The Galaxy Tab A 10.1-inch is the latest tablet offering from Samsung. The unit is now up for pre-order after being announced last May. If you’re in the United States, you can place early orders for the new Tab but only for the 16GB/WiFi model. The entry-level unit starts at $299.99. Other variants with higher storage capacities have yet to be available but expect them to be priced a bit higher.
Don’t be confused about all the Galaxy Tab A’s available because there are too many. There’s also the 9.7-inch, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and Galaxy Tab A 7.0 among others. The 10.1 is considered one of the biggest next to the Galaxy TabPro 12.2 and of course, the 18-inch Galaxy View.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 is available in pearl white or metallic black. Samsung will be glad to ship your order for free within 7 to 10 days after you place your order. That is, if you live in the US.
To review, this year’s Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 comes equipped with the following: 10.1 inch screen, 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution, Exynos 7870 processor, microSD card slot, 16GB onboard storage, 2GB RAM, WIFi, Bluetooth, and a 7300mAh battery. When it comes to imaging technology, there’s a 8MP rear camera with LED flash, autofocus, and f/1.9 and a 2MP front-facing cam with f/2.2 and is capable of 1080p video recording.
We can say this new Galaxy Tab A is a mid-range tablet with the given price and specs. It’s not exactly low end but good enough for basic tablet use.
