Pre-orders for the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge begins today, February 23. The top mobile networks in the US, T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T, are ready to take your orders. Deliveries will begin on March 11. The date is exactly what was rumored before, at least, for the European variants. It’s not just in the US as other countries are also expected to receive the latest premium flagship smartphones from Samsung.
This information on the global launch on March 11 is from Samsung’s chief DJ Koh himself according to Yonhap News. We only know of the American mobile carriers’ plans and prices. We also noted of the free Gear VR headset when you order for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge between February 23 and March. We’re guessing this strategy is to attract more buyers especially during the first month.
We’re excited to know how fast the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be. We’re also curious if sales will be phenomenal since Samsung brought back the microSD card slot and the phones’ waterproof IP68-certification. Samsung’s numbers weren’t exactly impressive last year but we can say millions of people supported the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge plus the S6 edge+. Others were disappointed that the South Korean tech giant removed the microSD card slot but we’re glad that it’s back now on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
Samsung is hoping to ship 40 million Galaxy S7/S7 edge this year. We have no word how many units are being prepared for the initial production but last year, Samsung prepped five (5) million for the first batch. Someone noted that Samsung is set to produce five million Galaxy S7 on initial production.
