If you are a Samsung Galaxy S user that has felt left out when it comes to Gingerbread, your update is coming. At least that update is coming in Europe. That update should be available now or very shortly for users of the Galaxy S in Europe via KIES. It’s been a whole since we talked about that Galaxy S smartphone, we reviewed it way back in March of this year.

Along with the update come a change log of what the smartphone gets feature wise. The update adds an animation shadow at the end of scroll lists. The messages app gets faster start up for opening SMS or sending them. The battery life and power consumption is improved as well.

Overall performance of the phone is improved and there were bugs fixed in the system app. A hang issue with the OEM screen was patch and the picker app was improved. It also gets enhancements to the camera. If you apply this update, be sure and let us know how it works out.

  1. SO.. where is it?.. I have upgraded via kies my SGS to 2.3.3 and theres that fucking huge battery drain.. the ICS is not comming on SGS yet.. WTF Samsung??!!!!?!!!

  2. It’s somehow changed the sound output for music. I use my Desire HD as an mp3 player as well as none of the music sounds the same. And this isn’t a positive. It sounds awful. Don’t know if this hapoened across the board with the 2.3.5 update

  3. since updating on 9th January 2012 to 2.3.5 gingerbread my phone keeps on turning itself on and off four or five times from switch on until it actually stays switched on.i didn’t have this problem before.any ideas anyone !

  4. DO NOT UPDATE TO THE OFFICIAL 2.3.5, IT CAUSES MY PHONE TO FREEZE ON MANY OCCASIONS AND HAS MADE IT SLOWER AND THE BATTERY LIFE HAS GONE CRAP, IF ANYTHING THIS UPDATE HAS GONE BACKWARDS, SO ADVICE IS TO STICK TO 2.3.3 INSTEAD.

  5. Upgraded (eventually) to 2.3.5 via KIES. Everything seems fine. Don’t notice any improvements to camera app, the shadow at the end of lists is ANNOYING, gmail seems same as before and too early to comment on battery life/drain.
