It’s happening very soon. The Android 9 Pie update for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 may be released in the coming weeks as the Pie beta program is about to launch. The Galaxy Note 9 beta program was served a few weeks ago and then made official just before 2018 ended. A while ago, we noted the Note 8 may receive the update before the Galaxy S8 since the South Korean tech giant made changes to the schedule.
Android Pie will be served for Galaxy Note 8 ahead of Galaxy S8. Note 8 will have it later this month while the S8 and S8+ will get the Pie in March.
Samsung has been quick to release the Android OS beta program and we’re assuming other models will follow soon. We’ve got information on the schedule of release and we’re crossing our fingers Samsung will be able to keep its promises.
The Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note 9 owners can enjoy a serving of the Pie with One UI. Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8 will soon join their ranks.
New software versions are being tested namely G950FXXU4ZSA1, G955FXXU4ZSA1, and N950FXXU5ZSA1. There are beta builds already as indicated by the ‘Z’ in the name.
We’re guessing the same builds with One UI will also roll out in the following key markets just like the Note 9 and S9 Android 9 Pie OS: United States, United Kingdom, India, South Korea, and Germany.
