The Samsung Galaxy J line is about to get a new entry in the form of the J7 Prime. Earlier this year, we were introduced to the 2016 versions of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 after leaks, renders, and early sightings. This year’s model of the J7 is getting another variant —a more premium, more prime model. Nothing is official yet but we have no doubts that a Galaxy J7 Prime is arriving.
The Galaxy J7 Prime was recently sighted in the wild and we heard that it just got a TENAA certification which signifies an impending announcement. The name itself tells us that it will be a souped-up version of the J7. Rumor has it that the mobile device will be equipped with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1080 pixel resolution, Exynos 7870 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, 8MP front-facing camera, and a 13MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture.
The phone is also expected to be powered byAndroid Marshmallow and topped by TouchWiz UI and should be eligible for Android Nougat in the future. Color options are believed to be Gold and Black only.
All these information were shared by a Vietnamese website which listed the difference in specs between the old Galaxy J7 and the upcoming Galaxy J7 Prime. There’s an obvious change in the display resolution and the front-facing camera. From 720p, display is now 1080p while the selfie cam has been improved to 8MP from 5MP.

I was just about to buy the 2016 Galaxy J7. Is there any news when the Prime model will be released? I can wait if it’s not too long.
