‘Riptide GP: Renegade’ made its way to the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV console earlier this August. Now we’ve got news that the racing adventure is live on the Google Play Store. Even the iTunes App Store has received the app so this means more mobile users across both platforms will be able to enjoy the game. For those familiar with the game series, you may remember Riptide from years ago, specifically Riptide GP and Riptide GP 2.
Game developer Vector Unit has been working hard on this game. It was previously made available on Steam, Apple TV, Steam, and recently, the NVIDIA Shield Android TV. The iOS and Android versions are not exactly the same as there are slight differences. The Android game is said to support Google Play Games Services, Bluetooth game controllers, as well as, tilt-touch controls. It’s available with a premium price of $2.99.
To review, ‘Riptide GP: Renegade’ will have players racing their rocket-powered watercraft. Set in futuristic worlds, the game will require the players to outrun the cops and do crazy stunts. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself doing mid-air moves because that’s one of the many challenges of the game.
There are several modes within the game including a single player career mode, ghost racing leaderboard challenges, 4-player split-screen local multiplayer, and 8-player online races. As with most versions of the game, the Android mobile version supports various languages from English to French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German, and Brazilian Portuguese.
