The new Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm is already expected to make the next flagship phone from any OEM that will use it will impress the mobile industry. However, there’s also the Exynos 8890 and the Apple A9 to compete with. While it’s too early to say how the S820 will really fare against its rivals, we’re already seeing good scores in several benchmark tests.

Right now, we only know the Xiaomi Mi5 will run the new Snapdragon processor aside from that mysterious Green Orange X1 Pro that scored 83,774 and 82,307 on AnTuTu recently. As for the Xiaomi Mi5, its single-core score was 2162. That’s already high but still not good enough to beat the Apple A9’s 2500. Just recently though, someone managed to see the S820 reach 2300 points on a single-core tally as shared over on Weibo. We’re still not sure which phone was tested but we’re still guessing it’s another Xiaomi Mi5 as the leaked information originated from China.

We also heard of the Snapdragon 820-powered Samsung Galaxy S7 aside from the Exynos 8890 version. We’re interested to know how the Qualcomm chip will make the Galaxy S7 faster and what score it will reach compared to Exynos in several benchmarks like Geekbench, AnTuTu, and GFXBench.

Let’s see if it will ever beat the Exynos 8890 that’s dubbed this early as a multi-core king. We’re curious to know how the new Snapdragon will fare against the A9 or even the Kirin 950 processor that also recently scored high on AnTuTu.
