Panasonic smartphone lines may not be popular as the Samsung Galaxy phones, LG G’s, ASUS ZenFone’s or HTC One’s but the Eluga phone series has been around since 2012. It was first released in Europe and was also released in Japan in the same year. Panasonic has made a surprise comeback last June by introducing the mini version of Eluga S, this time, in India.
Panasonic seems to be taking advantage of the emerging market in India as the company is set to introduce a new device known as the ‘Eluga Icon’. This new smartphone is currently listed for Rs 10,999 ($171). It’s only a budget-friendly phone but specs are good enough for the mid-range Android device category.
The Panasonic Eluga Icon will be available on Amazon India this coming August 13 complete with the following specs and features: 5.5-inch HD IPS display screen, 1280 × 720 pixel resolution, 1.5GHz 64-bit octa core processor (probably a MediaTek MT6752m), 16GB built-in storage, 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 8 megapixel front-facing selfie camera, dual SIM support, 4G LTE connectivity, and a 3,500mAh. Panasonic says the battery can last up to 19 hours on talk mode and hear this–900 hours on standby mode which is about 37.5 days.
The Panasonic Eluga Icon smartphone also features Blink Play and Picture in Picture modes, microUSB 2.0, GPS/A-GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity. The device measures 7.9mm thick and weighs 147gm and will only be available in Slate color.
