It may not be one of the top mobile brands today but the Chinese OEM startup is reliable when it comes to software updates. OnePlus regularly releases OS updates for all models. Almost every week, the company rolls out updates for the OxygenOS platform. OnePlus 2 may have already received the OxygenOS 3.0 with Marshmallow albeit silently but the other models like this OnePlus X only have the OxygenOS 2.2.1. This comes almost two months after the 2.2 update for the same device. We’re guessing 3.0 will be next but while waiting, you may download the OxygenOS 2.2.1 on your OnePlus X now.
The latest OxygenOS update brings a lot of fixes including a solution for app drawer not launching when the Google search bar is hidden. You should see the drawer after the update now. When using Google Hangouts, some users have reported that the microphone is being muted. That one has been fixed, as well as, the annoying data leak while roaming as experienced in some countries.
This version features an upgrade to GMS 3.0. It also brings the monthly security patch update and APN update to support Tigo carrier. Other features have been optimized and a number of other bugs have been squashed already.
Wait for the OTA to be pushed on your OnePlus X as release will be incremental as always.
