We remember Nextbit teasing a red Robin earlier this month and finally, it’s here. Aside from the Mint and Midnight color variant of the Robin smartphone, there’s an Ember version that looks pretty in its reddish pink shade. It’s ember not amber so we’re telling you not to be confused. Others may say it’s a darker shade of coral but let’s just say it’s bright red–perfect shade for this Summer. Price is still $299 but offered for a limited time only.

Nothing has changed on the specs. It’s the same Robin equipped with a 5.2-inch 1080p Gorilla Glass 4 screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing shooter. As for connectivity, there’s WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB Type, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.

Nextbit has also announced the future changes that will come with the August update. The beta testers should be getting the latest version that will deliver video support to archive and store old videos in a more efficient way. The update is still in its early stages so those who have signed up for the Beta Tester Program may experience a few kinks here and there. Of course, that’s expected because it’s beta.

The Nextbit Robin’s August update will include security updates released for July. Also expect improvement in thermal tuning and management because you need to cool down your Robin from time to time.
