If you’re a fan of anything Sony and James Bond, then this news is a double delight for you. A promo image has been leaked over the weekend of what’s believed to be a Sony-James Bond partnership. The next movie “SPECTRE” is launching this coming November and we can only assume that the next Sony Xperia Z5 or the Sony H2, one of the two premium phones the company is working on ia a phone “Made for Bond”.
A Made-for-Bond smartphone could mean a lot of things. The next Sony device could be something kick-ass and very hi-tech just like Mr. Bond. That’s always expected of any new product from any brand but since Sony has disappointed us a bit with the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4, we’re expecting the Xperia Z5 will be a lot better.
The phone could also just be a special edition especially the movie is about to be released in a few months. This could just be nothing like a promo for both. Or we could also expect a “cameo” appearance of the Xperia Z5 in the movie. Are we surprised? Not really since an old phone model, the Sony Xperia TL was used by James Bond in the movie “Skyfall” released in 2012.
We’re still not sure about this rumor because the leaked image could easily be made by anyone. Watching the James Bond Spectre trailer, I didn’t see any reference to a Sony phone being used (or didn’t I just notice it?). We heard the Sony H2 premium phones would run Snapdragon 810 processor.
Some information from China said the Sony H2 aka the Sony Z5 would use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and have 3GB RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, 32GB built-in storage, 20.7MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera, and a fingerprint scanner when it’s unveiled this September. Meanwhile, a Sony Xperia Z5+ is also rumored to be released next year complete with a 5.7-inch borderless, 2K screen, Qualcomm S820, 4GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, 20.7MP camera, 8MP front camera, and fingerprint scanner. Launch is expected in early March 2016.
