Samsung is expected to launch its next-gen Galaxy Tab tablets at Mobile World Congress in February 2011, according to the WSJ, alongside a new range of Android smartphones. The Korea Herald reports that the new handsets will use dual-core processors, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and have Super AMOLED Plus displays, as on the Samsung Infuse 4G.

According to Samsung mobile exec based on fourth generation technology, the new tablets will be “based on fourth generation technology”, though it’s unclear if he’s referring entirely to 4G connectivity. Samsung announced a 4G LTE version of the original Galaxy Tab for Verizon last week.

  2. Jay,

Samsung will give us Galaxy S owners Android 2.3 so what are you whining about?

But then again, I was smart enough to buy a device I knew millions would buy.

  3. I didn’t like 2.3.1 on the Nexus S – still very choppy and laggy. I find 2.2.1 on the Galaxy S much smoother (although it’s not perfect) – especially for browsing desktop rendered pages.

  4. What are you moaning about, there are plenty of ROMs available that you can flash your device with to spice it up. I have a galaxy s and am currently running a Gingerbread ROM with a little built in Voodoo magic, with no lag what so ever. Treat your device as a base and do a little research and you can have it do what ever you want in no time !
