The announcement of the specs of the LG G4 is still hot off the presses, and one of the most attractive features of their new flagship is that it has a 3,000 mAh battery that is also replaceable in case it runs out of juice. But if you still need more power than that (as you probably will, tinkering around with your brand new device), then one of the external batteries you can consider is Mophie‘s Juice Pack, which will be available soon.

The battery pack will give your LG G4 80% extra battery, or specifically, 15 more hours of talk time, 9 hours of web browsing, and 10 hours of video playback, all from its 3.450 mAh power. Aside from powering your smartphone, it will also serve as a protective casing for your device because its hard shell design is made up of polycarbonate material. It also has raised bezels around the front edge so that your screen will be scratch-free (hopefully).

The Juice Pack is made up of a two-piece frame that will easily snap together so that your smartphone’s back is cradled properly so that even if you drop it, you won’t have a heart attack. It comes with a micro USB 2.0 cable so you can charge it when it finally runs out of power, a headphone adapter, and 1 year warranty as well.

You can already start pre-ordering the Juice Pack from the Mophie website. It will cost you $99.99, which may be a bit steep for an external battery, but because it is also a protective casing, then it might be worth it. It will ship sometime in June, and since the LG G4 isn’t shipping in the US yet, that would probably be okay.

  1. Makes no sense to me. Phone had a swappable battery. Why would I want to add so much bulk when I could just carry another battery?
