We recently covered Xiaomi’s announcement that the company was finally ready to launch the MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM. Before that, MIUI 8 was only available in beta but the time has finally come – at least for specific Xiaomi devices. MIUI 8 will roll out to majority of Xiaomi’s smartphones and phablets eventually, but the staggered rollout means the available download links just announced will be for a few specific devices only.

In the MIUI forums, download links for the MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM have been provided, but only for the first few devices. Specifically, these are the Xiaomi Mi 2 and Mi 2S, the Redmi 1S, the Xiaomi Mi 4i, the Redmi Note 4G, and the Redmi Note 3G. Xiaomi has assured us that the ROM will be released for other devices soon.

We’ve talked about the changes and new features of the MIUI 8 at length. Xiaomi is sufficiently happy with it so much that they launched it in an exclusive event in India and from what we’ve seen of it, we highly recommend that Xiaomi users upgrade to it immediately once the ROM has been made available for your devices.

The MIUI forums are currently down as of time of writing, but allow us to point you to the Google cache of the forum post so you can download the ROMs for your devices immediately. Alternately, you can keep checking on the source link below to see if the MIUI forums are up and running again.
