The MWC 2019 is happening in a few weeks so expect numerous leaks and early announcements. We’ve filled several pages about the next flagship device from LG and other brands. We’ve been saying that instead of Samsung, LG may be facing Xiaomi. Image renders and a 360-degree video have surfaced online. It was confirmed the LG G8 will be announced in Barcelona without any Touch function. It’s not clear if it refers to physical buttons but we’re thinking gestures will be added to the phone.

The LG G8 could also be the LG 5G smartphone. It’s expected to be cooler and speedier in many ways.

Design-wise, we’re not sure about the notch but the last set that popped up online shows one. So LG is maintaining the notch. We see a selfie camera with an LED flash and what we’re assuming is another sensor.

There is no earpiece on the notch but that could mean the ‘Sound on Display’ technology may be implemented. We see dual rear cameras set in a horizontal position similar to the LG V40 ThinQ (but sans one lens). There is no mention of how many megapixels or what sensors the device will have.

LG seems to be still using a fingerprint scanner so an under-display fingerprint reader is already out of the equation. We’re looking at a metal body with a G8 ThinQ logo.

At first glance, the LG G8 ThinQ looks similar to the LG G7 with the curved edges. The wide notch is almost the same. There is still a power button (so it’s not button-less yet) and SIM card tray on the right side of the phone. The left side shows a Google Assistant key and the volume rocker.

The LG G8 ThinQ could still have a 3.5mm headphone jack, single-stereo bottom speaker, BoomboxSpeaker technology, and facial recognition. Other specs are as follows: 6.1-inch OLED screen, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, dimensions of 152 x 72 x 8.4mm, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, and a 4000mAh battery.
