We know that LG will be announcing the G2 smartphone at an event in August. The more interesting aspect at the moment is coming by way of leaks though. We have seen leaks which included everything from images to specs and as of today it looks like we have a bit more.

This latest leak has arrived by way of the Korean language CDP Korea and includes some details on the battery. Granted, this isn’t the most exciting aspect of the phone, but what we are seeing here includes a 2540 mAh removable battery. This is far from the biggest battery available today, but as always we are going to wait for real-world usage examples before we say if this size will be good or bad.

As a comparison we can say the Galaxy S 4 has a 2600 mAh battery and the HTC One has a 2300 mAh battery. Simply put, this LG G2 leak has the battery sitting in the middle at the moment. Alternatively, the LG Optimus G Pro is currently sporting a 3140 mAh battery. But again, we need to look towards real-world use for the end result.

Otherwise, there has been some speculation as to whether the LG G2 has a 5.2-inch of a 5.5-inch (5.46) display. Either way though, the display is expected to be 1080p in resolution. Remaining and still rumored specs suggest the handset will debut with a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

That all being said, that LG event is scheduled for August 7th, though judging from the way things have been going thus far — it seems safe to say that we are going to see some additional leaks before we see an official announcement.

  1. Hey Cory, this is just a rumor. Besides, who knows for sure if this test device is only sporting this battery as a final product or for testing purposes? I’m just sayin…

    • Hey Charles, It’s a little more than a rumor when we see the picture of the battery inside the phone. Although the cut-out makes it suspicious, to say the least. Thanks for the comment. I was hoping for 2,800 or bigger myself.

      • 2,700mAh is very fair , but this phone is too thin so im actually guessing too if this is true or not?

      • yeah, I considered the picture. My thinking is that since this is a leak, it’s not confirmed so it’s just as a rumor in my book, plus the cropped pic also had me thinking twice too. You’re hoping for a 2,800 battery while I’m hoping for a 3,000 battery….lol. Yes, I know how crazy that sound given the thinness of the device, I can still hope because that 2540 battery wouldn’t be excusable if it were not removable, just for my own preference, I can’t speak for others.

  2. now a day in technology its not always about the numbers.
im very confident that if this is true LG do the best!

by the way this model is for korean market(not internatinal version)

im still hoping LG will put a bigger battery for its G2’s international version.

    Great 2 have G2.

    Goldstar for life……….

  3. The battery is way too small. Motorola already put a 3300mAh battery in a thin phone years ago. What’s wrong with these OEMs?
