There will come a time when BlackBerry will stop making phones, and that time should come pretty soon. But while they’re still around, they’d still like to see if they can change your mind by putting out a few more phones. Like this rumored new device known only as the BlackBerry Mercury. From these new leaked images we have, it looks like an Android device with the iconic physical keyboard.
From these images that leaked from China’s Weibo, we find that the BlackBerry Mercury seems to match up well with the supposed renders that were leaked pretty recently as well. You can see what seems to be a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, probably a 3:2 aspect ratio, and hopefully with HD resolution. Of course, it wouldn’t be BlackBerry if there wasn’t a physical QWERTY keyboard.
Other rumored specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, supported by 3GB RAM, and an 18MP/8MP camera combo. These leaked images seem like they’re showing Android Nougat, and some pundits are saying that the spacebar could also house a fingerprint sensor.
This might be the last BlackBerry phone we’re getting that’s made by the Canadian company, and hopefully it will be better than the recent efforts. Most of the earlier Android devices suffer from a pricing imbalance, with the devices being too expensive to be competitive.
