Huawei is definitely on its way to being on top. No, we’re not really rooting for the top Chinese OEM. We’re here to report to you what’s new and what’s hot. Samsung is still No. 1 but we think it needs to worry about how fast the No. 2 phone maker is launching new technologies and innovations. You see, Huawei is serious in overtaking Samsung. It has an edge because even without a hold of the American market, it was able to beat Apple.
In 2018, we’ve been hearing about Huawei’s plans to be ahead of Samsung in launching a foldable phone. It was being planned to roll out before the Samsung Galaxy X is announced. It definitely wants to be No. 1 and with a 5G foldable phone, it’s highly possible.
The Huawei 5G foldable phone was presented to Korean carriers a couple of months ago so we know it’s almost ready. And recently at a pre-MWC briefing, the company once again focused on 5G technology. It only shows Huawei is ready.
Huawei’s Balong 5000 5G modem works as mentioned during the Huawei Mobile 5G launch. The 5G phone is also said to be announced at the Mobile World Congress. It will not be any 5G phone– it will be a 5G foldable phone. While other brands are only preparing for a foldable phone or a 5G phone, here is Huawei ready with a 5G foldable smartphone.
The yet-to-be-revealed smartphone will run on Kirin 980 processor with Balong 5000 modem. There’s an idea there will be more than one 5G phones. We’re assuming the 5G foldable phone is only one. The other device could be the Huawei P30 Pro.
