What in the weird? We’ve got a bit of info coming in all the way from over in China, XDA.CN (not to be confused with XDA Developers) has not only a couple pictures of the HTC Pyramid, they’ve got some specs as well – and the oddest thing, before we even get into the rest? This phone will feature Android 3.0 Honeycomb. That’s supposed to be a version of Android made only for the tablet environment. What does this move mean? It of course means nothing less than that the universe is collapsing.

In addition to featuring the tablet mobile OS Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the HTC Pyramid (which they’re calling “Pyramind” here, when translated from Simplified Han Chinese by Google) also features a 960 x 540 resolution 4.3-inch Super-LCD touchscreen, 1.2Ghz processor of unknown origin, 768MB of RAM, a giant 8-megapixel camera on the back and a regular ol’ crappy 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video chat – the back camera having autofocus, single LED flash, and supposed additional features not yet revealed.

Inside there’ll be Wifi support on unknown bands, Bluetooth (unknown version,) and a lovely odd back design. Look at those loops! Look at that camera eye! This phone also looks an awful lot like the HTC ThunderBolt, wouldn’t you say? Also sort of kind of looks like the HTC Inspire 4G — but prettier on the back, if you ask me. Behold the burial of past unstylishness!

  1. If that’s an official render, it’s interesting that they only have the Google stamp on there. That follows the Nexus One and Nexus S engraving pattern. The back also looks like the Nexus One. Could be the next official Google phone to herald Honeycomb to the hand-held?

    • That’s a great idea I hope so I wanna upgrade from vibrant so I need a fast phone with great screen and this is it even thought it won’t have better colors but it will be sharper and bigger

  2. As soon as I heard rumors about the specs, I knew this was the phone for me. The current ‘heavy-lifters’ on T-mobile just don’t have what I want – a 4″+ screen. The Nexus S is cool, but guess what? There’s no microsd card slot. That’s nuts, in an age where people are forsaking laptops for powerful phones.

I was considering the MyTouch 4G (the well-reviewed successor to my phone, the MyTouch Slide), but the screen size was meh. Why get that when I’ll be outdated by the Pyramid in the summer?

  3. funny that it has htc at the top but the soft buttons are standard droid, not the home, menu, back, and help buttons htc uses on their phones.

  4. Phone looks beautiful. Ill take it if it is dual core. And it will probably run Ice Cream or Jelly/Jello whatever next is

  5. Gorgeous, I hope it’s vanilla (rubbing my hands together) looks like what the Nexus S should have been. Overjoyed HTC made it though, for Dev support & solid unibody designs. Welcome to the next generation of super smart phones. Hope it has an RGB led and HDMI or DLNA mirroring. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one…

  6. ok lets see what we got here….it says GOOGLE in the back… not “With Google”….. is this the NEXUS 3! it kind of looks like the nexus one but more mature and with more style…….. this phone in my opinion should had been what the second generation of the google nexus phone looks like…………this baby pack a 1.2ghz dual core, 764mb RAM, 8mp rear CAM single LED flash with 1.3mp front, 4.3 inch qHD 960 x 540 display, and who knows it might come with “Android Ice Cream” who knows right…. and it has the word “Google” printed in the back like the NEXUS phones…….so what do you guys think?
