If you own an Acer R11, you may probably be waiting for the Google Play Store support to arrive on your machine. The update will allow most Android apps to run on your laptop. It’s said to be one of the bigger updates available for any Chrome OS-powered device because such will become more powerful and useful than ever.
There may be similar Android-running notebook computers available but nothing beats official support from Google. At present, the Chromebook Pixel 201 and Acer R11 are anticipated to run the apps and experience Android.
The Chromebook Flip received it earlier. For the Acer R11, this convertible Chromebook can also be updated via the Developer Channel. Upgrade to Chrome OS version 53 and start running your favorite Android apps and games right on the computer.
Note that not all Android apps may run smoothly but we’re certain that Acer R11 owners will immediately download the new software version. To check if it’s ready on your R11, go to Settings> About Chrome OS> and select the the developer channel.
Receiving Play Store support and running Android apps on the laptop is the goal now of most Chromebook Pixel and Acer R11 owners. Rollout may be slow but expect it will be ready soon for more than 60 devices from other OEMs like Asus, Acer, Dell, Haier, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, and Toshiba among others.
