Owners of Samsung‘s 2013 flagships from across the pond should have something to celebrate today. The awaited Android 4.4 update for the Galaxy S 4 as well as the Galaxy Note 3 has been reported to be now flowing out to users in the UK.
As expected, the rollout of Android 4.4 to those devices have been gradual and staggered, with different regions receiving theirs ahead of others. It was only last week that T-Mobile began its rollout for the Galaxy Note 3 to its customers, while AT&T released it a week earlier for the Galaxy S 4.
The changes in this update might already be familiar to our readers. Aside, of course, for the major Android version bump, Samsung has taken the time to update its TouchWiz interface with new features or tweaks here and there to make it more compliant with the Android style. There are even rumors that the Android 4.4 updates have brought and end to Samsung’s cheating on benchmark tests, though that has still to be verified.
Unfortunately for HTC One owners, there is still news about their own Android 4.4 update. Last week, HTC pulled out the update due to still unknown critical issues. Given how the Galaxy S 4 and Galaxy Note 3 updates in the US have been quite uneventful, we hope that UK users won’t be bothered by a similar problem.
