A couple of weeks after the Huawei P9 was officially unveiled, Huawei is teasing the public with more variants of the flagship phone. We’re anticipating the P9 Max and a P9 Lite based on an Oppomart page spotted recently. This Huawei P9 Lite is expected to be a watered down version of the flagship model which means it will be cheaper.

The variant was seen listed on Cel.ro, a Romanian retailer. The P9 Lite will be available in white or gold with a €270 ($305) price tag. Specs include a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display screen, HiSilicon Kirin 650 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP selfie cam, 4G/LTE connectivity, and a 3000mAh battery.

Since this phone will be a lighter version of the Huawei P9 that’s loaded the dual Leica camera system, we’re expecting this cheaper version will not have such camera setup. The phone only lists ordinary 13MP and 8MP cameras–no mention of the brand Leica. If you’re into mobile photography, we highly recommend the Huawei P9 but if you only want a new smartphone that will do its job nicely, then the P9 Lite is okay. Or if you want a more powerful unit, wait for the Huawei P9 Max.

The device will also have a fingerprint sensor, dual SIM capability, and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. We’re not doubting all these details. It’s just a matter of waiting for the official launch.
