Looks like “geektilithertz” – a developer who specializes in Android for other platforms – is getting a lot of airtime these days, and this because of his development projects bringing Android to the Raspberry Pi and x86 platforms, among others. This time, the developer is back with the newly released Android Nougat, now designed specifically for x86 platforms like netbooks, laptops, and desktop PCs.
Now the official Android x86 project has put out a developer preview for Android Nougat on PCs, and you have to give it to these guys because they are keeping up the effort even when there is basically no support from either Google or Intel to formalize their projects. The problem with the developer preview is that you will be required to make your own image so you can use it.
If you’re not too savvy on making your own installer, “geektilithertz” has you covered with a ready-to-use installer to get Android Nougat to your PC. Some of Nougat’s key features, such as split-screen and multi-window mode are there. This is a first on stock Android, which now allows users to interact with two apps on the screen at once.
If you want to try this out, you can download the image from the source link below. The source page also has a link to a video on how to install the software.
