Motorola Moto E Cricket Wireless

Even before the Mobile World Congress, Motorola announced that the second generation Moto E is available worldwide. It’s only a matter of waiting for when exactly the smartphone will arrive in a particular region or be offered by a network. So far, we already know it might be offered by Verizon and Android 5.0 Lollipop is ready for the unit out of the box. Just recently, Cricket Wireless has added the new Moto E to its smartphone lineup with a very affordable price.

Cricket Wireless will start offering the Motorola Moto E 4G LTE variant starting on Friday, March 13. It’s actually the first phone from the mobile carrier that runs Lollipop. It’s one of the few affordable 4G LTE-capable smartphones in the market today at $129.99 with no contract or agreement.

Cricket Wireless offers smartphones with data, text, and voice prepaid plans at the best prices. This AT&T subsidiary promised it would “roll out more affordable 4G LTE smartphones in 2015” and looks like it’s keeping its promise. For as little as $35, you can avail of unlimited calling and texting plans fro Cricket Wireless. That is, after signing up for the $5 Auto Pay Credit on Basic, Smart or a Pro plan.

The 2nd gen Moto E boasts of a bigger battery and a faster processor. Of course, this one is expected to be better than its predecessor. To review, specs includes a 4.5-inch qHD display screen that is scratch-resistant, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, all-day battery life, and 4G LTE connectivity. Just last month, Android Community received a Moto E and we said you can’t go wrong with the phone with those specs and the price point. The smartphone won’t be sold beyond $150 and you can even get it cheaper if you choose the Snapdragon 200 and non-LTE version.

Aside from the price, making the Moto E an “awesomely affordable” Android phone are the following special features: dual cameras for photos and HD video recording, liquid-repellant technology to protect against spills and splashes (sorta waterproof), and Moto Experiences that make Motorola phones better with the Moto Assist, Moto Display, and Moto Migrate.

The 2nd gen Moto E from Cricket Wireless will also include Cricket Wi-Fi app that quickly connects user to open and free Wi-Fi hotspots across the United States. You can switch to Cricket Wireless from other carriers and if you choose either the $50 or $60 plan, you’ll get one free month of service after completing a couple of month on the Smart, Pro, or Advanced Plan.

Here is a list of wireless plans currently offered by Cricket Wireless to existing and new subscribers:

• Basic ($40/ 2.5GB)
• Smart ($50/ 5GB)
• Pro ($60/ 10 GB)
• Advanced ($60/ 20GB) Plans – $35, $45 and $55 after a $5 monthly Auto Pay credit
