We’re certain we may have missed a number of mobile hotspot devices from AT&T. The last one we remember was the Unite Pro mobile hotspot and portable charger combo released in November 2013. That’s over two years ago but finally, AT&T has a new offer that’s expected to withstand the test of time. The mobile carrier has just introduced its first-ever rugged mobile Wi-Fi hotspot–the Unite Explore. It has the same ‘Unite’ name but this one looks tougher and ready for adventures in the wild.
You would think that only mobile devices, speakers, and other accessories need to be rugged but if you’re an adventurous techie that still wants to be connected to the Internet all the time, your hotspot gear also needs to be tough. This means you can bring the AT&T Unite Explore anywhere without having to worry that water or dust will get inside. The mobile Internet device is ready for everyday bumps and accidental drops (just don’t test and drop it from the a few stories high, okay?).
Unite Explore offers security and advanced controls. You can provide Guest Wi-Fi access with optional timer to limit usage of other users. Feel free to shared the 4G LTE mobile Internet connection to a maximum of 15 other units like laptops, smartphones, tablets, digicams, gaming consoles, and any other WiFi-enabled devices.
The rugged hotspot can also be managed to block certain websites with the advanced parental controls. If you’re travelling abroad, you can also use the Unite Explore as a roaming hotspot as long as there is a local 4G LTE connection. Roaming fees will apply.
AT&T Unite Explore will be available for only $49.99 with a 2-year contract beginning April 1. You may purchase from AT&T stores or at online at www.att.com.
