Samsung Galaxy S5 users who are on AT&T have a new software update for their phones to download and install. The update is a big one and you will have to be on WiFi to download its 142.8MB bulk. The update is available for people to download via FOTA.

In the update are security patches, application installation enhancements, and a fix for an accidental emergency dial issue on the lock screen. The update also brings with it fixes for several lower layer modem crash issues and improvements for sluggish performance in some instances.

Email UX fixes are included along with a fix for S-View cover errors along with improvements to the re-activation lock to round out the new features in the latest update. AT&T recommends that S5 owners back up their devices to SD card or other method before applying the update.

Once the update is finished installing users can verify the update by looking in the About device section of the System category. After the update, the information found there will reflect Android version 4.4.2, Baseband version G900AUCU2ANG3, Kernel version 3.4.0-2178781, and build number KOTH49H G900AUCU2ANG3.
