The ASUS ZenWatch is coming real soon. Teased back in June and officially announced only last September at the IFA 2014, the Android Wear running smartwatch has also been added to the Android Wear catalog for the holidays recently.
ASUS is already getting busy with the ZenWatch, releasing three apps for the wearable device. And now it’s officially listed on Google Play complete with all the specs and photos of the pretty timepiece. Price is still $199 but exact availabity isn’t listed yet. We just know it’s coming soon. Personally, I like the design of the ZenWatch because it doesn’t look too geeky. It looks like an ordinary, classic watch I usually wear but this time, with the screen coming to life and with the information I need.
This smartwatch integrates with ZenUI on ASUS smartphones. This means you can also enjoy some ZenUI native apps like ‘Do It Later’ and ‘What’s Next’ on the watch on the watch. Wearable-optimized versions of the apps are ready to be used as long as you have a compatible ASUS smartphone.
ASUS ZenWatch features a manager app that includes the following functions: Cover to Mute, Find My Phone, Tap Tap, Watch Unlock, Remote Camera, and Presentation Control. For the health buffs, the ZenWatch can also works as a fitness gear and as a personal wellness manager. The sensors allow the watch to track relaxation levels, step counts, heart rate, and any other wellness statistics you want to monitor.
Smartwatch is powered by Android Wear and is compatible with devices running at least Android 4.3. You can check out the ASUS ZenWatch on Google Play now.
This watch looks like what the Apple Watch should have looked like. Smoother and more subtle.
