Remember the ASUS ZenFone Zoom released earlier in January? Yup, the ultra-thin phone with 3X optical zoom which was made available last quarter with a $399 price tag is finally coming to Europe. The smartphone was recently shown off in Berlin complete with a 3X Hoya lens, 10-element lens arrangement, offering up to 12X total magnification for close-up images.

The ZenFone Zoom is considered as the thinnest optical-zoom smartphone in the world today that promises super imaging performance–as if you’re shooting with a DSLR camera. It’s made possible by those 10-element lens created by Hoya that includes synthetic, glass, and prismatic lenses in a dual-prism periscope arrangement to capture the clearest photo, as well as, maximize light. There’s also the optical image stabilization, dual-LED Real Tone flash, and auto-focus to point and shoot. The ZenUI Camera app and Super Resolution mode both allow the user to take professional-quality photos.

The ASUS ZenFone Zoom is no doubt more imaging-centric but it’s also as powerful when it comes to mobile computing, thanks to the Intel processor inside, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity. Other specs include a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen with wide 178-degree viewing angle, ASUS TruVivid technology, and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display. The 3000mAh battery can be quickly charged as made possible by the ASUS BoostMaster[1] technology, allowing you to juice up the batt to 60% within 39 minutes from zero.

No word on availability and pricing yet in Europe but it should be somewhere around the $399 price point.
