Over the last few months there have been several computer makers talking about possibly adding Android to the OS options for netbooks. Among the companies said to be doing Android netbooks were Acer and Asus.
According to reports, Acer is now saying that its Android netbook won’t be offered this year. ZDNet reports that Acer told it that there would be no discussion on the plans of timing for the dual-boot OS netbook launch.
The original DigiTimes story claimed that Acer was citing lack of interest as the reason for delaying the netbook. However, Intel has also delayed its next netbook platform and Acer may simply want to launch the netbook along with the new Intel platform. Asus is still rumored to be set for an October launch for its Android netbook.
