Amazon is rolling out an update to its 2nd generation Fire TV and Fire TV Stick products, and owners should be getting the notification for the update soon. The update is centered around a user interface refresh, with everything easier to access and within reach – especially watching our favorite media, films, or TV shows.
The update brings much needed changes to the Home screen of the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick interfaces. Now you can do a universal search for content with results spanning from over 90 channels and apps including Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video. That’s probably the easiest way to find that specific movie you’re looking to watch.
Other components of the update include these:
– A new streamlined top menu, and a featured content rotator that automatically plays video snippets for selected titles and apps
– A new customizable row for personal Apps & Games on the Home screen.
– Amazon Music, Prime Photos, and Amazon FreeTime are now pre-installed and can be accessed from Your Apps & Games
– Accessibility enhancements for customers with hearing or visual impairments
To get this update, you can just wait for the update notification to get to you, or you can go into the settings and manually check for updates. Let us know what you think of this new interface.
