AllCast is now live on the Amazon App Store

It’s official: you can cast anything to your Amazon Fire TV. Thanks to Koushik Dutta and his tireless work on AllCast, the app is now available for the latest streaming TV box. With it, you can stream movies from just about anywhere to your Fire TV.

Amazon Fire TV updated, Hulu and Crackle add voice search

Amazon updated their Fire TV today, bringing in additional channels for their lauded voice search feature. We’ll now get the pleasure of using Hulu Plus, Crackle, and Showtime Anytime by singing our commands into Amazon’s remote. The three join VEVO as the services outsid of Amazon to utilize the feature.  

Fire TV iFixit teardown reveals massive heatsink

The Amazon Fire TV was announced earlier this week and the folks at iFixit have returned with another teardown. They gave the set-top box a score of 6 out of 10 in terms of repairability, however we suspect there will not be many attempting to fix this $99 media and game player by themselves. Instead these teardowns offer a look that most will likely never see otherwise. They sometimes also reveal some interesting little details.

Amazon Game Studios drops Fire TV Sev Zero sneak peek

Amazon announced the Fire TV this morning. Some of the focus of the announcement event was on the media side, and some was on the gaming side. On the gaming side there was talk of exclusive games coming courtesy of Amazon Game Studios. There was even mention of the first game, Sev Zero, which is available beginning today.

Amazon Fire TV promo features Gary Busey…talking

Fresh off the Fire TV announcement from earlier this morning, it looks like the first promo video has arrived. This one clocks in at a minute in length and features Gary Busey. More to the point here, the focus of this promo is voice, and well, it has Gary Busey talking to a bunch of household items before finally getting to the Fire TV.
