The Android Nougat-based MIUI 8 first rolled out on a Mi 5 for Xiaomi at the beginning of this month. That was after several months of being under beta and Stable ROM. The Chinese company is always hard at work in updating the UI so it’s releasing another version: the MIUI Global Beta ROM 6.12.8. This time, for more Xiaomi devices.
The new Beta ROM is ready for those who received the MIUI 8 early. A number of Xiaomi phones already have the latest UI build such as the Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 2, Mi Max, Mi 5s, and Redmi 3 plus their numerous variants. It’s good to know that there are a lot of MIUI 8 Global public beta-supported devices already so Xiaomi phone users don’t have to worry if their units will receive the latest update or not.
Some of the changes include the new black and white colors for doodles. You may notice enhancements on the Lockscreen, Status Bar, and Notification Bar as well. Some bugs have been fixed like that Landscape mode issues when third party themes are enabled.
This MIUI 8 is based on Android Nougat so expect major Android 7.0 features will be available on your Xiaomi device.
