Announcements of Android Nougat rollout are usually done by phone makers and OEMs. Most mobile carriers only do so once they are ready for release and download. As for the latest Android 7.0, we know a number of phones getting it such as the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, HTC 10, some Nexus phones, Nextbit Robin, and Huawei Honor 8 among others.
We don’t know from which network will receive the software update first but we’re glad to know T-Mobile may be the first. A redditor shared in a thread a screenshot of a message prompt he received on his LG G5 that reminds about an Android System Update. The message reads:
T-Mobile is pleased to provide a new, free update for your Android smartphone. This update includes Android 7.0 Nougat OS and Android Security update among other improvements. To install the software, make sure the battery is fully charged, connect to Wi-Fi if prompted to download, and once downloaded select Restart & Install at the bottom of this screen. Please do not turn off this device while the update is installing.
Size of the file is around 1272.9MB (1.3GB) so make sure you have enough storage on your LG G5 before downloading the package. OTA alerts should also be received anytime soon over WiFi but expect it to be downloaded automatically between 11PM and 4AM according to T-Mobile.
