As early as 2013, we knew that Kodak was thinking of a cameraphone that runs Android. We saw the Instamatic 2014 but only as a concept phone. Soon enough, the company teamed up with Bullitt Group to launch a mobile handset at the CES 2015. The Kodak IM5 Android phone was indeed introduced but we have no idea how it did in the sales department but a new phone was being teased earlier this month.
Officially announced this week is the EKTRA which is a result of another collaboration by Kodak and Bullitt Group. This new smartphone is ideal for those into mobile photography because it combines Kodak’s imaging technologies and innovations all packed in a smartphone. The phone will be available soon in Europe.
The smartphone’s name comes from the original KODAK EKTRA Camera that was released in 1941. It’s an homage to the past when Kodak started in the world of photography. People into this hobby and professional photographers will agree that the EKTRA smartphone is a modern version of the historical camera.
The Kodak Ektra Smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP front-facing camera(with f/2.2 PDAF), 21MP main camera(F/2.0, PDAF, Dual LED Flash, OIS), Helio X20 2.3 GHz Deca-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for storage expansion, 3000mAh battery, and a USB 3.0 Type C fast charger.
When it comes to imaging, the Kodak Ektra impresses with the Advanced Manual Mode where you can adjust the ISO, Exposure, White Balance, Aperture, Shutter Speed, and Focal Length. There’s also the scene selection modes that includes Smart Auto, Manual, Portrait, Bokeh, Sports, HDR, Night-time, Landscape, and Macro among others. For capturing videos, there’s also the Super 8 Video Recorder.
KODAK EKTRA Smartphone will be released before 2016 ends with a £449 ($550) price tag.

I don’t know folks, judging from the samples it’s not good at all… I wish they could integrate the sensor that is in Moto Z Force or Nubia Z11 (only 16MP, but they do some sort of trickery and photos it produces are simply outstanding) Kodak, you will have to try harder.
