After the OxygenOS 3.2.6 OTA update was released for the OnePlus 3, the Chinese OEM is rolling out one for the OnePlus X mid-range phone. The device is about to get the OxygenOS 2.2.3 update but in slow increments. This is to ensure that OnePlus X owners receive the OTA and no one misses it. This OxygenOS version is a bit old but the 2.2.3 just follows the update that was released last August.

We noted there’s still no Marshmallow but finally, the newest one brings some important changes in preparation for the upcoming Marshmallow version for the OnePlus X.

OxygenOS 2.2.3 brings important dependencies for Marshmallow upgrade plus the September Android security patches except for the Quadrooter. The software update is being released now slowly but surely.

Note that before this OS software release, OnePlus also released new OxygenOS community builds for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus X, OxygenOS 3.1.0 OTA update for OnePlus 2, another OxygenOS 3.5 Community Build for OnePlus 3, and the OxygenOS 3.1.0 Marshmallow community build for OnePlus X. The number of releases and updates only proves that OnePlus is serious in its customer service and keeping its promises to the consumers.

The community build for the OxygenOS Marshmallow for OnePlus 3 is underway so expect the next update will finally bring the fluffy update.

  1. Customer service is not just os updates. I just read how a customer paid for three items and didn’t get one (protective screen for tempered glass) and after three months he received a regret note that he will not be compensated. We expect fine service in all aspects for a fine product.

  2. I just updated my OnePlusX today to the 2.2.3 version and my phone keeps on crashing every time I open an app…I had to restart my phone 4 times today because it just froze and I just keep getting black screens…it’s enoying because I really like my OnePlusX and it never had these problems before..I hope they will fix it in the next version..

  3. ****** URGENT ***** ***** IMPORTANT *****
Please do not go for this 2.2.3 version update. I got this update today morning, and ever since then I am having the following issues:
    1) Phone is heating up very badly even when idle.
    2) It keeps crashing on every app. Ex:Facebook, Twitter etc..
    3) When I receive any call, it wont even let me answer, and instead it just freezes until it is restarted.
    4) It takes more than normal time to get recharged. And the charge gets drained very quickly
Please help me in restoring back my previous OS version.

  4. I also have the same issue as the people have stated above. I updated my phone to version 2.2.3, and I was surprised when I picked up my phone because it was burning hot. Since the update all my apps have been crashing, same with the system. I am currently trying to roll it back to the previous versions.

  5. Hi guys I have the same exact issue… no. 30 in queue right now. I hope they’ll tell me a way to fix it (reverting or maybe flashing to the marshmallow version) because I just can’t use my phone.

  6. Guys i also faced the same problem.
Power off your phone–> Press the Lock & Volume down button together untill the phone vibrates–> Wipe Cache & Date–> Wipe Cache–>Reboot.
The phone starts. But i again face the same problem. I guess we need to wait for the 3.1.0 update.

  7. Last night, I updated my OnePlus X phone software which said September security updates and dependencies for Marshmallow update. Ever since the phone got updated, it’s out of control. Gets hanged in 1 minute or two, System UI, Launcher doesn’t respond, gets extremely hot, unresponsive. At a point I actually had to throw it away from me thinking it might explode (it became that hot). Anyone experiencing similar issue ?

Basically it has become a hot paper weight that can be used to throw at people.

  8. this update practially destroyed the phone, it gets hot as hell and it doesnt charge anymore!!! dont install it!

the idiot helpdesk said it might be fixed but it required buying a pc with windows to actually fix it?!?!

    DONT UPDATE!

  9. I’m out of the soup now, but at the loss of some data. Had to hard reset the phone (wipe cache & data) and it’s back to working condition;had to do that few times, not just once to actually get the phone working.
