In case you’ve forgotten, Kyocera is still in the business of making phones. The Japanese company has just introduced its latest handset offering in the form of the Hydro SHORE—it’s another Hydro model that’s a follow-up to last year’s Hydro AIR and Hydro WAVE. We’re expecting that this phone won’t be the first and last Hydro device from Kyocera this year but for now, let’s focus our attention on the SHORE.

The name alone suggests that this phone is waterproof just like the rest of the durable Hydro phones. Features include a 5.0-inch display, 5MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing shooter, 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad-Core chipset, 8GB onboard storage, 1GB RAM, microSD card slot, and a 2160mAh Lithium ion battery.

This waterproof device also boasts of Kyocera’s own Eco Mode for better power management. It’s one powerful phone because it can also work as a mobile Internet hotspot for a maximum of ten mobile devices. Those in the United States can avail of this Android smartphone from Walmart for only $79.99.

That cheap? Yup. It’s an exclusive deal from Walmart and in partnership with AT&T GoPhone. Really making this phone a winner is its IPX7 and IPX5 certifications—which meansyou can bring the device with you to the shower or by the pool. (Just don’t leave it under water for over 30 minutes, okay?)

Aside from being able to resist splashes and the pressure of water, the Hydro SHORE is also IP5X dustproof and has Wet Touchscreen Operation so you’re sure the phone can last a long time.

Hyydro SHORE runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. We’re not sure if it will ever get a taste of Marshmallow or the Nougat because it’s a low-budget phone but this kind of phone is something you’d buy for its durability and not really the high specs, right? The sub $100 price tag makes it more attractive too so who wants one?
