The Honor 5X which debuted in CES earlier this month and released in China last year as a budget phone is finally getting the Marshmallow update. We know it’s ready for Android 6.0 and EMUI 4.0 since January but it’s only now that Huawei is doing the major rollout. This update is expected to bring a smarter and smoother mobile experience for every Honor 5X owner. Honestly, we’ve been waiting for this one and we’re glad that updating is very simple and easy.
To get the update, go to Settings on your Honor 5X and then choose the ‘Update’ tab. Follow the screen prompts carefully and download should start anytime. As with any other Marshmallow updates, this one will bring several improvements on Now on Tap, Voice command, Doze mode, Volume Control Settings, Motion Control, Navigation Bar, Drag Actions, One-Hand Mode, and of course, the EMUI 4.0.

With Now on Tap, you can ask Google Now to do many things and answer your questions with a simple press of the home button. The Doze feature puts the phone into a sleep whenever possible to extend battery life. Notifications and volume and can be managed more efficiently with the simplified Volume Control Settings. The new Open Apps Menu allows easier scrolling especially with the EMUI 4.0. The Navigation Bar can also be personalized while Motion Control makes it easier for you to access the phone.
The Marshmallow update now allows One-Hand Mode and Drag Action so phone is faster to control and easier to navigate. Other new commands include ‘pinch out on an open screen to show hidden apps’, ‘pull down on the open Home screen for a quick search’, and add ‘apps to folders with the “Add” button’.
