The new Redmi 3S was recently introduced as a follow up to the Xiaomi Redmi 3. This is different from the Redmi 3 Pro and Redmi Note 3 so don’t be confused. The first Redmi 3 impressed the mobile industry when it was launched last January because of its 4100mAh battery. A few months later, it gets a follow up in the form of the Redmi 3S.
Actually, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S will have two variants: 2GBRAM/16GB onboard storage and the 3GBRAM/32GB RAM. Prices are $106 and $136, respectively. That’s CNY 699 and CNY 899 in China where the new Xiaomi phone will be sold initially. Xiaomi will make the phone available beginning this Thursday and you can only order from the Mi.com online store.
We’re curious to know if the smartphone will be available in other regions but for now, be content in knowing that you can get one in China. You can always ask a friend to buy a Xiaomi phone for you. To review, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S is equipped with the following: 5-inch HD IPS screen, 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, 1.1GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, Adreno 505 GPU, 16GB/32GB internal storage, 2GB/3GB RAM, microSD card slot, dual-SIM support, and still the same 4100mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be ready in Gold, Silver, and Gray color options. Making this more advanced than the Redmi 3 is the fingerprint scanner found at the back of the phone. When it comes to imaging, there’s a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter. Expect to use the PDAF, HDR mode, f2.0 aperture, LED flash, and 1080p video recording. There’s the standard WiFi, 3G, and 4G/LTE plus Bluetooth, GPS, and Glonass.
