The OnePlus 3 is coming. We don’t know when exactly but it should be in a few weeks from today and just in time for summer. However, there is a rumor that the new OnePlus 3 will be announced this May 18. Specs of the smartphone are believed to have surfaced on AnTuTu back in March complete with 4GB RAM but Geekbench gave us a peek on one loaded with 6GB RAM. We were guessing what OnePlus’ final decision will be but the latest rumor we heard points to not only one but two variants. So could there be two variants of the OnePlus 3? Looks like there are two different phones.

There’s a trend to release the flagship model in pairs. Apple started it with the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S and then Samsung followed last year with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge plus the newest Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. We won’t be surprised if OnePlus announces two OnePlus 3s (confusing much?) because this Chinese OEM will do everything in its power just to attract more people.

Rumor has it that the OnePlus 3 will be available for 1999 Yuan which is about $310. That is more affordable than the $329 OnePlus 2. The exclusive information that there will be two phones came from an insider. We learned this after OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shared a camera sample from the purported mobile device. As for the specs of the two smartphones, the 4GB RAM version will have a 32GB onboard storage while the 6GB RAM will have a larger 64GB storage capacity.

Both variants will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdrawon 820 processor. Obviously, the 6GBRAM/32GB version will be more expensive although we have no idea how much will be added to the base amount we mentioned earlier.

If the new OnePlus 3 phones will be unveiled this May, then we can expect a June release in China and other key markets.
