There are a lot of lockscreen apps available but success of one will always depend on how a person uses it. We’ve seen a few already including the Picturesque Lock Screen by Microsoft, Start, Next Lock Screen, CM Locker, and Echo Lock Screen to name a few. For the latest Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, the South Korean tech giant developed the Good Lock app as a more powerful lock screen. It’s currently supported by the latest Galaxy duo and can only be downloaded from the Samsung-exclusive Galaxy Apps store.

Like most lockscreen apps, Good Lock brings a number of functionality to the notifications area or lock screen. It can be useful if you want fast access to certain apps that you often use. Right on the lock screen, you can open your inbox, access Settings, make quick calls, check the weather, launch a social media app, or send an instant message. When you receive new alerts and notifications, you can just click on a link to open a particular app directly without having to unlock your smartphone.

The Good Lock is really good as it offers customization. When it comes to personalization, you can change the shade of the notification with an interface coming from stock Android. TouchWiz is still there but who knows until when Google or Samsung will keep it.

Customization is important to most people and this Good Lock doesn’t compromise that part even if it’s only a lockscreen app. Truth is, widgets and shortcuts are important especially if there are too many apps stored in a device. We live such busy lives that we yearn for speed in everything that we do or own. Personalizing something makes it easier for us to identify and remember things.

The Good Lock lockscreen app is only available for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners in the United States, at least, just for now. Download Good Lock from the Galaxy Apps Store or get the APK shared by SAMMOBILE.
