We don’t remember the last Vimeo update since it was launched for Android way back in 2009. The last we heard was more than two years ago when it was eyeing Chromecast support. That was a long time already and even the guys at Vimeo know that so they’re releasing a major update for the Android app. After checking out the feedbacks, suggestions, requests, and even complaints of the users, the developers worked on combining the ideas to build a totally new platform.
This major update brings a fresh design that is now easy on the eyes. It’s also easier to navigate and the new player will impress you by being ad-free. Uploading is also made easier now and you can manage you settings with more efficiency. You can now also browse through different categories from Animation to Documentary to Travel that are curated by some users.
You’ll immediately notice the more mobile-friendly user interface. The new Video can play HD videos without any problems. Quickly view the comments, likes, and plays of every video you have uploaded. If you want to check out what other people are sharing, follow the works of other video creators within the community.
With the newest Vimeo for Android, you can watch more videos that will surely entertain you. If you want to watch later, just save the videos on your Watch Later queue. You’ll be able to see more related videos complete with descriptions and other relevant information. The Vimeo team will regularly prepare videos to include in their ‘Staff Picks’ for your daily viewing.
