If you happen to be at the IFA grounds in Berlin, you’ll be able to see and maybe get your hands on some of Lenovo’s newest products. Aside from the Vibe P1 recently caught in the wild and the Yoga 3 8-inch tablet, Lenovo has a new Chrome OS-powered laptop for us: the Lenovo Chromebook 100S.
The new Chromebook from Lenovo is designed for the cloud with fast WiFi speed. The company is adding free 100GB of free storage on Google Drive for a couple of years. And since this laptop doesn’t run heavy applications, you can expect longer battery life. It can last up to eight hours on a single charge so you can be more productive and be able to finish your tasks without any interruption.
Specs of the Lenovo Chromebook 100S include an 11.6-inch HD screen (also available in 14-inch), 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, Intel Celeron N2840 processor, Intel graphics, max of 4G RAM, 1 megapixel HD front camera, dual digital microphone, and up to 32GB internal storage. The Lenovo Chromebook weighs only 1.2 kgs (2.6 lbs).
The new Lenovo notebook computer is powered by Google’s very own Chrome OS so you get the basic built-in protection, Voice Search, fast booting, online or offline work mode, and of course, easy synchronization with Android smartphones and tablets. Synching lets you access your stuff from anywhere even without your Chromebook. Just make sure you are signed in to your Google account when working and are connected to the Internet.
As for pricing, the 11.6-inch Chromebook is very affordable at only $189 while the 14-inch version will go for $259–still affordable. No information on exact availability but Lenovo said it’ll be out just in time for the Holiday season.
